  30. Yes, for shooting on location, especially when small, light gear is important.
  31. I know people who already use it that way.

  33. BTW, BetaCamSP is not without flaws. It's a professionally usable,
  34. somewhat cost-effective format small enough for use in field production 
  35. equipment, but nowhere near "absolute perfection." That's why there
  36. are other formats, and why we will all eventually abandon NTSC/PAL
  37. entirely in favor of better standards and formats about which we will also 
  38. complain. :^)

  42. This doesn't make sense right now; there are no recorders. None of the camcorders
  43. will record video (with the possible exception of the Sony via the FireWire connector,
  44. but that would require a FireWire source). The first deck scheduled to appear is a 
  45. Panasonic DVC Pro editing deck that costs more than a BetaCamSP deck.
